Developing dialogue

Explaining what you do versus saying what you do.

Me: I'm looking for a way to aquire more business leads
Someone else: What do you do?
Me: I do Drupal sites and support.

Now to qualify the participants of that interaction. I do in fact work with Drupal and support the projects I've developed in Drupal. The someone else in that conversation, however, is a landscape developer. A restaurant owner. A personal finance consultant. That someone else is *not* someone who would likely know what Drupal is but would very likely benefit from Drupal if they knew what it could do. Sooooooo....

Me: With the experience I've got, I would think getting business leads might be easier.
Someone else: What do you have experience in?
Me: I have really strong skills in using a particular content management system to enhance a person or company's web presence. The system I use is flexible enough to be used for a variety of scenarios including blogs, shopping carts, support sites, media galleries, news sites and any combination thereof.
